About
The USA Stack is a national architecture for organizing and connecting Business Records, locations, geographic information, publishing systems, discovery experiences and AI-ready digital surfaces.
Purpose
It is designed to show how shared infrastructure could support many distinct national, state, county, city, community and business experiences without requiring every destination to maintain disconnected copies of the same underlying information.
The USA Stack is not itself a directory, marketplace, database or independent operating company. It is an architecture and demonstration site. The United States is not already covered by a completed production network — this site distinguishes what exists, what is deployed as a demonstration, what is being integrated and what represents the longer-term architecture.
The Seven Layers
Development Stage
A shared-record implementation with 25 configured surfaces demonstrates independent eligibility, publication and placement across branded and geographic destinations.

Emerging
Business Record, graph, API, search and publishing architecture
These assets exist at different stages. Not every strategic domain is developed, not every existing listing has been converted into an authoritative Business Record, and not every marketplace is currently integrated with the shared-record system. The opportunity is to progressively connect the strongest assets through a common architecture.
Governance
These principles describe how records, permissions and placement are intended to behave across every surface.
